Big Picture: Unsustainable

September 8, 2023 – The U.S. national debt is poised to cross $34 trillion by the end of 2023, highlighting the unsustainable fiscal trajectory of the country. Major US media outlets have started voicing concern, as well as credit ratings agencies, foreign nations, and others. In today's Big Picture segment of the Financial Sense Newshour, Jim Puplava discusses how this unsustainable increase in debt will likely lead to several different measures by the US government and how this all fits into the broader macro outlook.
