Biography
Antony Mueller teaches economics at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS) in Brazil. He was born and grew up in West Germany and obtained his doctorate in economics (as well as the post-doctorate degree of Dr. phil. habil. and the venia legendi) from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. In 2007 Antony founded the independent think tank The Continental Economics Institute. Before coming to Brazil, Antony Mueller gained experience as an international financial market operator and held various academic positions in Europe and the United States, where he was a Fulbright scholar. Antony Mueller’s main research areas encompass financial macroeconomics, international finance, monetary economics (central banking) and Austrian economics with an emphasis on the dynamics of unexpected change and dispersed knowledge. He is an adjunct scholar of the Ludwig von Mises Institute USA and has served as academic director for the Instituto Mises Brasil.
